Open Cities is a live performance project featuring David Gunn and Guillermo E Brown. For each version of the work, the musicians create a unique performance built entirely from sounds and video recorded on location in the host city.

The first concert in the Open Cities series debuted at Novara Jazz 2008 and focused upon the themes of waste and corruption in contemporary Italy.

The second concert took place on October 16th 2009 as part of the Future Places Festival in Porto, with the sounds used in the show gathered during a workshop with festival goers.
